Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings in the 17th match of the 2022 Indian Premier League in Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on Saturday.

Ravindra Jadeja-led CSK have had a terrible start to the season, losing their first three games. The team has been struggling on multiple fronts, especially batting. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will be under the scanner on Saturday. The last edition’s leading scorer has struggled with his footwork, scoring 0, 1, and 1 respectively in the first three matches.

“We need to give him (Gaikwad) confidence as we all know he’s a very good player. I’m sure he will come good,” Jadeja had said after their last match. The team lost to Punjab Kings by 54 runs in their previous match.

Kane Williamson-led SRK are also looking to register their first win this season. The team has failed to chase down targets on two occasions, resulting in a 61-run loss against Rajasthan Royals and a 12-run defeat at the hands of new entrants Lucknow Super Giants.

CSK and SRH have faced each other 16 times, with the former winning the match a whopping 12 times.

Shashank Singh and Marco Jansen will be making their debuts for SRH. For CSK, Maheesh Theekshana comes in for Dwaine Pretorius.
