In the span of these 29 years, Shah Rukh played some memorable characters, ranging from romantic to comic to anti-hero and all of those will remain irreplaceable owing to his talent. Celebrating King Khan’s extraordinary work of art, let’s rewind some iconic characters played by SRK.

Raj Malhotra, naam to suna hoga?

A spoiled brat, who is romantic and understands the so-called Indian culture was the national crush of India in the early 90s. He goes to Europe with his friends, meet a girl (Simran), falls for her so hard that he vow to win Simran back and play notorious games with Preeti and Ranjit to win her back. ‘DDLJ‘s Raj is hands down the most iconic Shah Rukh character ever.

Coach Kabir Khan and his precious 70 minutes from Chak De India

Indian audiences were offered several sports drama movies on the big screen but none can match the passion and pain of coach Kabir Khan from Chak De India. Called a traitor after losing a hockey match to Pakistan, a hockey player turns a coach to win back his snatched dignity. He trains the long-overlooked women’s hockey team with utmost zeal and wins the world cup back and so does his dignity.

Dev from Devdas

There’s no denying the fact that we all shed tears while watching Shah Rukh as Devdas. The brilliant expressions, unparallel dialogue delivery and acting. We understood Devdas only through Shah Rukh. At the time of its release, the film was the most expensive film ever produced, probably because it has the priceless skills of King Khan.

Mohan Bhargav, the NRI from Swades

In Swades, SRK brought the unseen simplicity and humbleness to Bollywood as Mohan Bhargav. A US-based scientist working in NASA comes to India to look for her Kaveri Amma, his nanny. He encounters the challenges and water shortage people face in rural India and decides to stay back in his home country.
