Bollywood has created a number of sports movies, such Mary Kom and Dangal, that show the remarkable journey and ardour of Indian sportswomen. We have now produced a list of actresses who will soon be portraying athletes on the big screen in anticipation of a wave of female-led sports films.

1. Chakda Xpress with Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma will portray Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami in her forthcoming movie Chakda Xpress. The Dhadak star will portray an ambitious player in the cricket-themed movie. The filmmakers haven’t provided many details about the narrative but the movie – Mr. and Mrs. Mahi is a pleasant tale about dreams in cricket.

3. In Spike, Rasika Dugal

The cast of Spike, a Hindi-language sports drama, is led by Rasika Dugal, who most recently had an appearance in the second episode of the popular series Mirzapur. Dugal will play a volleyball coach in the series, which was produced by Nishtha Shailajan and Dhaval Shah. As part of her preparation for the character, the actress spent three months practising volleyball in Mumbai. With such a strong talent roster on board, we have great expectations for this one.

4. Saiyami Kher in Ghoomer

The actress Saiyami Kher, who is widely known for her work in Breathe: Into The Shadows, will soon be seen as a cricket player in R. Balki’s Ghoomer. The actor will appear in this movie with Abhishek Bachchan, who will play her coach. It’s interesting to note that Saiyami represented Maharashtra in school cricket and was even chosen for the national squad. Therefore, we may anticipate that she will excel in the capacity of a cricket player!

5. Shabaash Mithu’s Taapsee Pannu
