Sony has revealed that a new Karate Kid movie is coming, and it has a release date. On June 7, 2024, the forthcoming movie is scheduled for release. This news comes just one week after the release of Cobra Kai Season 5

Sony has confirmed that the upcoming instalment will carry on the original franchise, but no other information about the cast, staff, or plot is currently known.

Ralph Macchio played Daniel LaRusso in the first movie in the series, which debuted in 1984. The title character, a skinny boy who is brutally bullied by his classmate Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and his gang, was introduced to viewers in the first film. In order to combat Johnny and the rest of Cobra Kai, Daniel seeks the help of karate expert Mr. Miyagi (the late Pat Morita), whose unusual techniques quickly give Daniel a fighting chance.
