Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is set to star in ‘Naam’, a psychological thriller directed by Anees Bazmee. Scheduled to release this summer, the film revolves around a person’s journey to remember his identity after losing it due to memory loss.
According to reports, the makers of the film are hoping to release it in the months of May, June or July this year, after keeping it under the wraps for 18 years. It is unclear if the film will premiere on an OTT platform or the big screen.
The film will include cinematic shots, thanks to its exquisite filming locations like Switzerland.
‘Naam’ is Devgn and Bazmee’s fourth collaboration. The duo has previously worked together in ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’ (1998), ‘Deewangee’ (2002) and ‘Hulchul’ (2004).
The film has been acquired by Bollywood producer Anil Roongta and a Gujarat-based businessman and is under the Roongta Entertainment banner.
“Naam is truly special for me because it also marks the fourth collaboration of the superhit jodi of Ajay and Anees post ‘Deewangee’, ‘Pyaar toh hona hi tha’ and ‘Hulchul’. Ajay is fantastic to work with, he puts a lot into playing any character yet always looks effortless on screen!” Roongta said, according to IANS.
Currently, Devgn has been occupied with the promotion of his upcoming film ‘Runway 34’. Starring Ajay Devgn as Captain Vikrant Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan as Narayan Vedant, Rakul Preet Singh as Tanya Albuquerque and Angira Dhar as Radhika Roy, the drama film is inspired by the Jet Airways Doha-Kochi flight incident that took place in 2015. It will feature how the pilots of an aircraft full of passengers managed to navigate through extremely challenging weather conditions.
Collectively produced by Panorama Studios and Ajay Devgn Ffilms, ‘Runway 34’ is set to release on April 29, 2022.
