For newbie Aarti Khetarpal, every individual is brought up differently and if one just stays honest to their story, the next generation will have some inspiring stories to look up to. “In times where the majority is trying to fit into someone else’s shoes, I feel it’s even more important to be an original,” the actress told Opoyi in an interview.

The actress, who has worked in films like “Ragini MMS 2” and “Casino” and is also working on a sports drama, says it is very important for aspiring actors to have a reality check before entering the filmdom.

“Many actors including me are staying away from their families and home to pursue their careers in Mumbai. Roz ka meter down hai boss! And every day counts – Not just professionally but also emotionally and financially. So it is extremely important to break down a plan and make sure we don’t let the jobs fluctuating perks distract us from our main craft. As the saying goes, a goal without a plan is just a dream,” she said.

Not just films, Aarti has done over 50 ad commercials including the ones in which she shared the screen with the likes Amitabh Bachchan, Hritik Roshan and Surya Shiv Kumar.

Talking about a career advice that she got from Big B, Aarti said, “I remember shooting an ad for UNICEF with Mr Bachchan and he taught me the importance of honouring everyone’s time and being thorough with your lines as an actor so that you add value to the producer’s money and directors time. This is something which is very apt and important for the long run in our business.”

Aarti, who starts her day with Surya Namaskar followed by high-intensity interval training and ends up with yoga asanas, says that the journey in the glamour industry has been extremely fulfilling and exciting so far.

“Yes when you’re a complete outsider, it takes more time than those who are born into this industry but if you are good and stand out then you become a magnet to attract the right kind of work and people in no time,” she said.

Her next film is on Indian Para Olympic Champion.

“As a sports enthusiast, I see my dream of doing a sports film coming true as I share the silver screen with real-life para cricket champions in my next feature film. Being a swimming champ, karate brown belt, and learning acrobatics with Underprivileged girls of Vrindavan, I have always felt strongly about promoting sports. At 24, This very cause led me to own a women’s football team too,” she said.
