Fashion brand Balenciaga has been the subject of a much-publicised controversy after it released publicity photos with children where they can be seen with BDSM-themed accessories.

Twitter user had pointed out that among the many photographs that were published as part of the campaign, one contained a court document regarding virtual child porn.

After the pictures resulted in controversy, the luxury fashion house tried to shift the blame on North Six Production, a company that managed logistics related to the campaign.

Balenciaga, in the lawsuit, said that it wants to “seek redress for extensive damages [North Six] caused in connection with an advertising campaign Balenciaga hired them to produce.”

“Members of the public, including the news media, have falsely and horrifically associated Balenciaga with the repulsive and deeply disturbing subject of the court decision”, the court filing further adds.

Kim Kardashian, the reality TV star who has for long been associated with Balenciaga, was being asked by her fans to condemn the incident. Despite being silent for all this while, the mother of four has finally decided to speak out.

Kardashian said in a statement, “I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been shocked and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.”

“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by those disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and anything against it should have no place in our society — period,” she further added.
