Kim Kardashian will pay a settlement of $1.26 million to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (US SEC) to settle charges related to the illegal promotion of a cryptocurrency. Kardashian failed to disclose that she was paid $250,000 to promote EthereumMax.
The US SEC said Monday that the reality TV star and entrepreneur has agreed to cooperate with its ongoing investigation.
Who is Kim Kardashian?
Kimberly Noel Kardashian was born on October 21, 1980, in Los Angeles, California.
The Kardashian name was somewhat well-known before Kim became a global sensation. Her father, Robert, was one of OJ Simpson’s defence attorneys and her mother, Kris, was Kim’s manager.
Kourtney is her elder sister, and Khloe’s the younger. Kim also has a younger brother, Rob.

Ian Halperin’s Kardashian Dynasty, notably, refutes the account of events citing a source saying the tape was a set-up. “It was Kim’s mother Kris who engineered the entire deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day”, the book says.

The sex tape came out in February 2007, and in October, the reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians was released, quickly becoming widely followed and leading to spinoffs like Kourtney and Kim Take New York and Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.
Some have criticized the family for using the lawsuit over the sex tape to garner attention for the show. In the same year, Kim also posed nude for Playboy.
Several minor television and film appearances later, Kim is now back in Hulu’s successor to the E! reality series, titled The Kardashians.

She’s also amassed a fair amount of wealth from iPhone games like Kim Kardashian: Hollywood and advertising on her social media accounts.

Initially, Kardashian had eloped with music producer Damon Thomas but was later linked to NBA player Kris Humphries, though many say this was a promotional stunt to get the reality show more fame.
She most famously married Kanye West, or Ye, in 2014, divorcing him and then moving on to Pete Davidson. Now the two have reportedly split as well due to schedule problems.
Kim has four children, North, Psalm, West, and Chicago. If famous for being famous had a personification, it’d be Kim Kardashian, but she’s also used her platform to speak out about body issues and try and usher in more inclusivity, though many have argued that Kim’s body type has set unrealistic standards for many women.
The influencer’s body again became the object of much debate after Kim lost weight to fit into the dress Marilyn Monroe wore while singing Happy Birthday Mr President to John F Kennedy. However, Kardashian has in her own way promoted a kind of body positivity by turning the traditionally attractive Pamela Anderson type of looks on its head and emerging as the new standard people aspire to.
