At her show in Lower Manhattan, singer Bebe Rexha got hit by a cell phone that was thrown from the audience. Around 10 p.m. on Sunday, the 33-year-old was struck in the face by a flying phone.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media, which shows the phone striking Rexha in the upper left cheek, right below her eye. The concert ended and she was taken to the hospital to be evaluated after this.
A 27-year-old concertgoer, Nicolas Malvagna of Manalapan, New Jersey, was charged with assault. In a new clip, security personnel locate Malvagna and pull him to escape the mob and cross the barrier. Fans yelled “a**hole” and “that is assault” as he was being carried away.
Malvagna is being held by police and will likely be charged later today.

The singer/songwriter was performing at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on her Best F’n Night Of My Life tour when she was smacked in the face. The Back to You singer was seen singing and making her way to the front of the stage while wearing a purple outfit and wearing her blonde hair down in the Twitter video.
The Brooklyn native was standing in front of the crowd when a phone slammed into her in the face from behind. The Grammy-nominated soprano was stunned for a moment before falling to her knees and burying her head as other crew members in the wings hurried to help. She waved to the audience one last time as she was attended to by medical personnel and led behind the curtain at the location.
