Nicolas Malvagna, a 27-year-old man was arrested on the suspicion of assault after he allegedly threw a cell phone at Bebe Rexha at the Rooftop of Pier 17 when the singer was on her Best F’n Night Of My Life tour in New York.

The cell phone struck Rexha on her face, resulting in her getting three stitches on Sunday. At the time, the Grammy-nominated artist was performing and was walking toward the front of the stage when the incident happened. She smacked right in the face with the device. The 33-year-old singer fell to her knees with her head done as a number of crew members rushed to help her.

The phone reportedly struck Rexha in the upper left cheek, right below her eye. She was rushed to the hospital after the incident.

Who is Nicolas Malvagna?

Nicolas Malvagna is a 27-year-old native of New Jersey. He had been arrested and charged with assault.

Rexha fans were quick to point out to the venue security the culprit who had allegedly thrown the cell phone and Malvagna was taken away by the security. As he was being led out of the venue, fans shouted “that’s assault.” Others started to boo and called him an “a**hole.”

An NYPD spokesman said about the incident: “On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at approximately 2200 hours, police were notified of an assault that occurred at the concert space of Pier 17 located at 89 South Street, within the confines of the 1st Precinct. A preliminary investigation on scene determined that a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone at a 33-year-old female performer on stage, striking her about the face. The individual was taken into custody on scene and removed to the 1st Precinct for arrest processing. The aided female was removed by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition.”

Rexha has four upcoming tour dates scheduled for the week ahead. It was not known whether she would be able to continue her tour amid her injuries.
