Stand-up comedian and actor Bob Saget, known for his starring role in the beloved sitcom ‘Full House’, was found dead in a Florida hotel room, authorities confirmed on Sunday. He was 65. 

“Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case,” The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a tweet. 

Saget was in Florida as part of his ‘I Don’t Do Negative Comedy Tour’, according to his Twitter. He has been touring the county since September last year and last performed at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Jacksonville.  

Authorities have no information on the cause of death, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Orange County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Born in Philadelphia on May 17, 1956, Saget graduated from Abington Senior High School in 1975. He then attended film school at the Temple Univerity, where he created ‘Through Adam’s Eyes’, a black and white film about a boy who underwent reconstructive facial surgery, for which he received an award of merit in the Student Academy Awards. 

Saget got his breakthrough with CBS’ ‘The Morning Program’ in 1987. He then landed the role of Danny Tanner on the ABC sitcom ‘Full House’, which ran from 1987 to 1995.

He also hosted ‘America’s Funniest Videos’ from 1989 through 1997.  Saget also voiced the future Ted Mosby in the CBS sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’, which ran from 2005 to 2014. 

He wrote, directed and starred in 2007’s ‘Farce of the Penguins’ a parody of the 2005 nature documentary ‘March of the Penguins’.  From 2016 to 2020, Saget reprised his role as Danny Tanner in Full House’s sequal series ‘Fuller House’.
