Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Matthews, welcomed their second child on Monday, a baby boy named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

The announcement was made through a joint Instagram post on Monday and the athlete shared the picture of their son’s small legs resting on a blanket. The post read, “Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III 11/28/22 7lbs 8oz”.

In the picture, the infant was seen lying on a Mahomes-printed blanket but the baby’s face was not featured in the snap.

The couple received many congratulatory messages from fans, friends and followers. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s team’s official Instagram also wrote, “Congratulations Patrick & Brittany.”

Mahomes and Matthews announced the KC Current owner’s second pregnancy in May 2022 through a joint Instagram post. The post featured their 1-year-old daughter, Sterling, holding up a sign that read: “Big sister duties coming soon.”

They also made the baby’s gender announcement during a gathering with relatives and friends a month later.

Mathews posted the pictures from the gender reveal party and captioned it, “Baby boy is already so loved”. 

  The couple is already the parents of daughter Sterling, who was born in February 2021.

Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews began dating in high school and both attended college in Texas. They got engaged in September 2020.  The couple got married in a lavish Hawaiian ceremony.

The couple were childhood sweethearts who later became professional athletes. They were able to maintain their long-distance romance while thriving in their collegiate athletic careers. While Matthews has participated in international competition as a professional soccer player in Iceland, Mahomes is the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs.
