The clip of the incident surfaced on various social media platforms where Satana can be seen saying, “When God made you and me, before we came out of the womb, you know who you are and what you are. Later on, when you grow out of it, you see things, and you start believing that you could be something that sounds good, but you know it ain’t right.”
Several X users slammed the guitarist for his rant and took to their social media to express displeasure. One user wrote, “Carlos Santana years ago ranted about how the Grammys were tasteless because people showed too much skin and the host’s jokes were racy and I knew then, he’s an old fart stuck in the social and mental hell of respectability politics and conservative ideals. He sucks.”
“From someone who comes from a marginalized community himself.. to stand up there and spew this hatred… F*ck you Carlos Santana you bitter old man!!” another user tweeted.
One user wrote, “This is so disappointing from Carlos Santana. I’ve always been a big fan. No longer.”
