Recently, Netflix debuted a new teaser of Stranger Things Season 4 during the TUDUM event. David Harbour, who plays Chief Hopper in Stranger Things, a Netflix series, compared Season 4 to ABC’s Lost.

Season 3 of Stranger Things showed how Hopper died in self-sacrifice to help close the Gate to the Upside Down. But now we know he survives and is there in Russia, as shown in the season 4 teaser. The trailer itself shows Hopper has been imprisoned and stuck in a Russian wasteland called Kamchatka.

David draws parallels of his character in Season 4 to Gandalf’s in The Lord of the Rings. He compares Hopper’s return to Gandalf, the Grey who fights the Balrog and then becomes Gandalf the White.

Harbour attended the series panel at New York Comic-Con Saturday to discuss the opening season of Stranger Things, where he spoke about not committing the same mistakes as ‘ABC’s Lost.’

David says, “What we’re trying to do, as we elaborate this thing, [is] to draw it back and make sure that we don’t have an end game like, some of us thought about, that show Lost. ‘What happened to the polar bear?!'” joked Harbour. “We’re trying to draw in, so the [elements of the story line] starts to come to a head and becomes a complete piece…Season 4 lays a lot of pipe for that.”

Pandemic has delayed the post-production of season 4 by several months. Therefore, fans are waiting to see Hopper but in a different vein.

There is no announcement regarding the release date of Stranger Things season 4 ,but it will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2022. Fans are expecting something creative as Stranger Things is one the most popular in-house series available on Netflix.
