Stranger Things season four is currently in production, and we have some casting updates! Netflix announced a handful of new characters in November — three series regulars and five recurring characters, all of whom have some role to play in Hawkins, Russia, and beyond — and four more stars were added to the cast on Wednesday.

The new season‘s details, including a possible release date, are still scarce, but the casting announcements and character descriptions give us at least a few hints about where season four might go (hint: a Russian prison and a government conspiracy both seem to have big roles).

Amybeth McNulty as Vickie

Following her role on Netflix’s ‘Anne With an E’, the actress will play a new character on ‘Stranger Things’. Her character is described as a “cool, fast-talking band nerd who catches one of our beloved heroes’ eye.” Is she a classmate of Will’s at his new school?

Grace Van Dien as Chrissy

The Charlie Says actress will play another Hawkins High student. Chrissy, her character, is a popular cheerleader who is hiding a dark secret.

Regina Ting Chen as Ms. Kelly

The actress, who was most recently seen in Disney+’s ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, will play a guidance counsellor who “cares deeply for her students — especially those who are struggling the most.” Given that her character description does not specifically mention Hawkins, it is safe to assume that she will be attending Will and Eleven’s new school.
