Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe sobbed as she stated that she bears some responsibility for the singer’s death. Debbie Rowe, 63, said she wished she had done more to help Jackson when he became addicted to painkillers.

Rowe said in a new tearful documentary interview, ‘I should have done something and I didn’t.’ ‘There are a number of people who died from addictions, and in some ways, I was part of it.’ The documentary is titled – TMZ Investigates: Who Really Killed Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson met Debbie Rowe at the dermatology office where she worked in Beverly Hills, California, while he was being treated for his vitiligo skin condition.

In a 2003 interview with ABC News, Rowe discussed their first meeting. She told the publication: “I go ‘Hi’. And he says, ‘Hi,’ to which I respond, ‘You know what? Nobody does what you do better than you, and nobody does what I do better than me. Let’s get this out of the way.’ And then he laughed, and we became friends. It was perfect right away.”

Jackson married Rowe in November 1996, just weeks after his divorce from Lisa Marie Presley, in a ceremony at the Sheraton on the Park Hotel in Sydney, Australia.

Rowe stated that she knew Jackson wanted to be a father and that she wanted to be the one to give him that opportunity.

Rowe became pregnant in 1996, and the couple married on November 14, 1996, in Sydney, Australia.

Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. was born on February 13, 1997, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and was later nicknamed Prince. The following year, she gave birth to a daughter named Paris Jackson (born April 3, 1998, at Spaulding Pain Medical Clinic in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles). Rowe later stated that she was artificially inseminated and had no sex with Jackson. Jackson assumed full responsibility for the children’s upbringing.

On October 8, 1999, the couple divorced, and Rowe granted Jackson full custody of the children. Rowe was awarded a $8 million settlement as well as a home in Beverly Hills, California.

Before being married to Jackson, Rowe was married to Richard Edelman. Edelman was a science professor at Hollywood High School where Rowe was a student. She revealed that she had a crush on him. The two married in in 1982 After 6 years of marriage the two divorced in 1988.

Marc Schaffel

Rowe is currently in a relationship with Marc Schaffel. Rowe and Schaffel become friends after meeting when they were both working for Jackson. That friendship developed into something more in the end. The two are currently dividing their time between Los Angeles and Rowe’s horse property in Palmdale, California, and according to her, he is also good friends with her two kids and Jackson. It was reported in 2014 that Rowe and Schaffel were engaged.
