Rapper Kendrick Lamar and Baby Yeem once collaborated with their latest single “The Hillbillies”. The track is accompanied by a video directed by Neal Farmer and depicts a contrasting side to their last deep cut “Savior”, and shows a lighter and more cheerful side. It reportedly comprises references to Drake’s Sticky from his album Honestly.
The duo had previously worked together for chartbusters like Nile, and Family Ties, which won them a Grammy award. The Hillbillies is already creating a lot of buzz as it has created huge excitement among fans. In 2023, Lamar has superseded many prominent names in the music industry with the success of Mr Morale and The Big Steppers in the last year.
Many Twitter users shared their enthusiasm for the new song on the public platform. One user wrote, “The real question is, is hillbillies better than sticky as a track?”.
While another user wrote, “I’m enjoining the new Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar song “The Hillbillies”.
It’s a good mood fun music. I love it.”
However, many fans were amused at the American rapper, Tyler, The Creator’s guest appearance in the music video. One user tweeted, “OMG!!!! TYLER ANNOUNCING CAMP FLOG GNAW 2023 AT THE END OF THE KENDRICK LAMAR & BABY KEEM “THE HILLBILLIES” VIDEO?!?!?! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭”
While fans wait for a full project from Lamar, his recent collaboration on Beyoncé’s “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” remix during her RENAISSANCE World Tour has kept his musical presence strong. Lamar and Keem consistently demonstrate their remarkable chemistry and inventive musical style in “The Hillbillies,” leaving fans eagerly awaiting their future endeavours. This alliance demonstrates their dynamic collaboration and ability to push creative boundaries, generating excitement and anticipation for what they will deliver in the future.
