Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde were recently in Venice for the upcoming premiere of their film, a Warner Bros. Discovery’s psychological thriller called Don’t Worry Darling.

Olivia Wilde made an effort to avoid being questioned about the problems that surrounded her movie. She attended the premiere press conference with actor and rumoured partner Harry Styles.

Wilde said: “As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, I mean, the internet feeds itself. I don’t feel the need to contribute. I think it’s sufficiently well nourished.”

Don’t Worry Darling features Florence Pugh and Styles as a perfect couple who reside in an experimental cult-like community in 1950s America. Along with Wilde, the film also stars Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, Kiki Layne, Nick Kroll, and Nick Kroll.

Pugh, who plays the major role in the movie, had already made it known that she wouldn’t be at the media event because her flight wouldn’t arrive until later in the day, in time for the red carpet.

Initially, there were rumours that Wilde and Pugh had a falling out because Wilde had declared a romantic relationship with Style while they were filming. A few days later, reports spread that Pugh had actually received a remuneration for the movie that was less than one-third that of her male co-star (reportedly $700,000 compared to Styles’ $2.5 million contract). Pugh was praised as a “force” by Wilde, who stated that her absence from the press conference was due to her current production on Dune: Part 2.

Shia LaBeouf, who was originally cast in the film instead of Harry Styles, recently revealed that he was not fired from the project.

LaBeouf told Variety that he left the film due to a “lack of rehearsal time.” In her own interview with Variety, Wilde discussed Shia’s casting, saying,  “I say this as someone who is such an admirer of his work. His process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions.”

Don’t Worry Darling will screen at the Deauville American Film Festival and the San Sebastian International Film Festival. The film will release on September 23.
