In
the time and age of social media filters, looking good and dressing well has
become a necessity. But do you know that your external beauty is interconnected
to your internal one? Grooming coach Meenal Narula says that having the right
kind of self-image is a stepping stone.

I
believe the most important tip for all young girls, stepping into a world where
external opinions and judgments are going to be a part of their lives is to
have a stronger self-image,” Narula, who has trained many contestants at beauty
pageants including the very recent Diadem Miss India and Mrs India Legacy 2020,
told Opoyi.

“They’re
at an impressionable age, where they tend to compare their physical appearance,
their personalities and strengths with others and their self-esteem takes a
hit. They lose their individuality in this process,” she added.

Narula,
who is a qualified Image Consultant, says that for girls to be confident and
beautiful from both inside and out is by having a strong, positive self-image
and “recognizing their own assets and potentials while being realistic about
their liabilities and limitations.”

She
also lists down five tips to look your groomed best without trying too hard :

*Understand
your skin and hair and formulate a routine that works best for it. Make sure
that your haircut is as per your face shape and you get your hair trimmed
regularly.

*Invest
in clothes that suit your body type and flatter your personal colours. The fit
of your clothes can also make or break your look!

*Have
minimal makeup on your face. You can opt for a light compact powder with sheer
coverage to be used on daily basis with a hint of gloss and kajal

*Be
mindful of your body odour. It contributes to your first impression and
presence. Choose the right perfume for yourself and use deodorants.

*Lastly,
don’t forget to have that warm, charming smile on your face and walk with
confidence.

While
being the coach of Miss India and Mrs India Legacy 2020, Narula groomed all
