Following the loss of their drummer Taylor Hawkins, the Foo Fighters have cancelled the remainder of their tour.

The 50-year-old died over the weekend in Bogota, Colombia, where the US rock band was set to headline a music event.

This summer’s tour also includes sold-out stadium events in the United Kingdom, as well as dates in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

They made the announcement with “deep grief” following their “shocking loss.”

“We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned,” they said in a social media post.

“Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together.”

“With love, Foo Fighters.”

Hawkins joined the band in 1997, as they rose to prominence as one of the world’s most popular acts. They’ve won 12 Grammys and are nominated for three more at this year’s ceremony.

The rockers were scheduled to perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday in Las Vegas, as well as spring dates at the Beale Street Music Festival, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Columbia, Maryland, Raleigh, North Carolina, Daytona Beach, Florida, Charlotte, North Carolina, the Boston Calling Music Festival, and summer dates in Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, and the United Kingdom.

In addition to his drumming abilities, Hawkins had authorship credits on numerous songs and occasionally sang at performances.

His passing prompted a flood of condolences from fellow performers and startled fans.

According to Colombian police, a toxicology report revealed signs of ten narcotics in his bloodstream, including opiates, marijuana, and antidepressants.

However, the cause of death is uncertain, and investigators have not said if the medicine combination was a role.
