The Global Citizen Festival 2022 will officially begin on September 24, 2022. It is a grandiose celebration of music and social change that has the power to bring artists, activists, global leaders, and Global Citizens to necessitate immediate action on the world's most pressing issues. The Global Citizen Festival stage not only hosts performances by some of the world's biggest artists, but also provides a forum for political figures, business executives, and humanitarians to make commitments with the goal to end poverty and drive operational and sustainable change.
The ambitious movement will have two events in New York City's Central Park (presented by Citi and Cisco) and Accra, Ghana's Black Star Square (presented by Harith General Partners).
Who’s performing at the Global Citizen Festival: Accra?
In Ghana, the Global Citizen Festival: Accra will be organised by award-winning actor, scriptwriter, and activist Danai Gurira and will feature musical concerts from Usher, Stormzy, Gyakie, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Uncle Waffles to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the country's independence and the 20th anniversary of the African Union.
This September, TEMS, who recently became the first African female musician to win Best International Act at the BET Awards, will also perform. All of these incredible performers are preparing to light up the famous Black Star Square with exhilarating performances.
Berla Mundi, Joselyn Dumas, Michaela Coel, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Sabrina Dhowre Elba are among the presenters.

The 2022 Global Citizen Festival will be broadcasted and streamed live on ABC, ABC News Live, FX, Hulu, iHeartRadio, TimesLIVE, Twitter, YouTube, and other platforms. ABC News Live will air on Saturday, September 24, and ABC will air a primetime special, Global Citizen Festival: Take Action NOW, on Sunday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. CT.
What is the duration of the Festival?
You must arrive by 2.30 p.m. to take advantage of a few perks, including an Uber promotion. The first 500 Global Citizens will receive a free drink voucher as well as a cool Global Citizen bandana.
The show will run until 11 p.m.
