Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’s trailer is out on YouTube. Marvel Studios dropped the trailer on October 26, giving the audience a sneak peek into the world of the much-beloved characters. 

The hour-long film will feature Drax and Mantis, who plan to abduct Kevin Bacon as a Christmas gift for the Star-Lord, Quill. Quill lost his love interest Gamora during the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

James Gunn, director of the film confirmed that this special will conclude MCU’s phase 4 and is a “must watch” before Guardians 3.

Release Date- 

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is scheduled to premiere on 25 November 2022 on Disney+. 

Cast- 

It features all the major characters of the Guardians of The Galaxy verse. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Gillan, and Kevin Bacon consist of the main cast of the upcoming special. Bacon’s appearance was revealed in the trailer and will be a crucial element of the film. Peter Quill aka Star Lord is obsessed with Bacon and his role in Footloose, and this preoccupation has become a running gag across the films. 

Plot- 

Star Lord is upset as his long-time love interest left him during the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. To cheer him up, his alien friends Drax and Mantis, kidnap Kevin Bacon, with whom Quill has been obsessed for a long time.

Filming- 

Filming for this special began in February 2022 under the working title Pop Tart in Atlanta Georgia. The filming took place in the later portion of the production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 from November 2021 until May 2022. This special uses the same sets as Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 3, located in Trilith Studio. 

Music and Background Score- 

In January 2022, it was confirmed that John Murphy would compose the score for the special. He previously scored for Vol 3 of the film series.
