Guy Fieri, famous restaurateur, author, and TV presenter received a ton of backlash on social media after he was spotted happily greeting and hanging out with former President Donald Trump at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in Las Vegas.
A number of photos of the two being delighted to meet each other at the T-Mobile Arena for UFC 290 on Saturday, July 8 surfaced online. Needless to say, the photos went viral and Fieri was slammed online for being seen with the 2024 presidential candidate.

Here are the photos as well as some of the reactions:
Guy Fieri has been famously apolitical in the past, which, according to some, has contributed to his likability and charm. “That’s kind of the brilliance of him. He kind of leaves a gray area that you’re sort of like, ‘Maybe I don’t have to care about this,’” Jason Diamond who profiled Fieri for Esquire magazine in 2016 told The A.V. Club. “That’s sort of the escapism thing. Maybe that’s a reason I keep watching him, because he’s been so good about hiding his political affiliation while still doing good things.”
In an interview with Grub Street in 2020, Fieri was asked to clarify his political stance. At the time he took a vague bipartisan stance, saying, “We’re the greatest nation on earth. Can we please just go in one direction?” On the rare occasion that Fieri has spoken up, he has talked about California Restaurant Association’s lawsuit against the state’s outdoor dining ban during the pandemic.

Fieri described himself as “politically incorrect” during a December 2020 interview on the Fox News show The Ingraham Angle, which led many people to assume that he was “woke” and a Democrat.
Apart from Fieri, Trump also met with Mel Gibson at the event and walked over to the analyst desk where he met with podcast host and UFC commentator Joe Rogan, among other celebrities.
