Irrfan Khan starrer ‘The Song Of Scorpions’ that had its premiere at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in 2017 is finally going to hit theatres in 2021. Directed By Anup Singh and also featuring veteran actress Waheeda Rehman, the film will see the late actor playing the role of a camel trader.

Sutapa Sikdar, the wife of the late star, took to her Facebook to recall the beautiful time they spent while shooting the film in Jaisalmer. She also said that for a star like him, there can never be a phrase called ‘One Last Time’.

“We celebrate him as an artist and as a poet as he leaves his imprint on the soul of the viewers which can never have the phrase “the last time”,” a part of her post reads.

“Jaisalmer, the land of desert songs, myths, stories, and Irrfan had an amazing soul connecting experience in Anup’s film “The Song of Scorpions”. He spoke with the camels, conversed with the stars, whispered to the sand dunes and the deep dark nights, and eventually, he became a part of it after presenting it to the prestigious Locarno film festival in Switzerland before the film released in #india #memories #etchedinsoul.

We as a family have infinite memories of the shoot and at Locarno.

We will cherish each of his works and celebrate every time its shown whether released for the first time or rereleased,” she posted.

Earlier this year, Irrfan Khan’s son Babil also shared a still from the film in which Irrfan can be seen sitting in front of a camel.

“He had this strange understanding of rain. I cannot compare it to anything that I have ever experienced. He could only explain it to me through the limits within what words would let him, but there was a connection that I cannot envelop even in the most beautiful language; only the desert could show, oh my god, what the rain did to him,” he wrote.
