‘Dil Bechara’ is a special film in more ways than one. Apart from being late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s posthumous, the movie also marks the debut of Sanjana Sanghi as a lead actor. However, due to the COVID-19 related restrictions, the actor could not get her first red carpet experience as a lead actress.

Sanjana’s family did not want her to miss out on that experience and they literally laid out a red carpet at home, in order to let the young actor a experience similar feeling. One of her family members shared on Instagram a glimpse of Sanjana living her moment writing, “#DilBechara Premiere Night @the Sanghi household. Streaming on Disney Hotstar now.”

Sharing it on her Instagram stories, the 23-year-old actor wrote, “My family didn’t want Kizie to miss out the premiere night, that Dil Bechara, in very different circumstances, would have had. They laid out the red carpet inside our home. Grateful.” She paired the caption with a broken heart emoticon.

Sanjana was previously seen in supporting roles in movies like ‘Rockstar’, ‘Hindi Medium’ and ‘Fukrey Returns’. This time, she plays the lead role of Kizie Basu, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput’s Immanuel Rajkumar Junior or Manny. Sushant died by suicide at his Bandra residence on June 14.

In an interview to PTI, Sanjana told, “I was supposed to do this (promote the movie) with Sushant from city to city. The pandemic wasn’t supposed to be a reality and he was going to be by my side through this. But to be doing this while dealing with personal loss is very challenging.”

‘Dil Bechara’ released on Disney+ Hotstar on Friday and became the only Indian movie to have a perfect score on IMDb.
