Warner Bros recently announced the merger of Cartoon Network Studio and
Warner Bros. Animation into one entity under the Warner Bros. brand name. The
company is reportedly aiming at restructuring its business model after Warner
Bros. Television Group (WBTG) laid off many of its employees in the past few weeks.

While social media got flooded with people reminiscing and
paying tribute to the animation channel, the question is, what does the restructuring mean for Cartoon Network?

According to Warner Bros., Cartoon Network is not shutting down, but
just getting merged with the former. The shows and programmes will still be
available to viewers. CEO of Warner Bros. Television, Channing Dungey stated
that the planned merger may have more effects than initially thought.

To our fans: We’re not going anywhere. We have been and will always be your home for beloved, innovative cartoons. More to come soon!” the statement read.
