Awards 2021 on Sunday got its bang from the comfy couches of stars. From Netflix’s  ‘The Crown’ & ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ stealing the show to an emotional moment in Chadwick Boseman’s award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama. Here are some prime key

Big day for Netflix

Netflix’s stellar content was too charismatic for Hollywood to ignore this time as well with some top players of the streaming platform dominating big categories. British
royals series “The Crown” swept four
prizes including various acting gongs and best drama, while The Queen’s Gambit’s  won two TV statuettes for Netflix.

the film side, late Chadwick Boseman won for ‘Ma Rainey’s Black
Bottom’, Rosamund Pike for ‘I Care A Lot’ and Sophia Loren’s ‘The Life Ahead’ won best original song.

Late Chadwick Boseman’s win

The ceremony witnessed an emotional moment when late actor Chadwick Boseman won the Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama award for his performance as Levee in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The award was accepted by his wife, Simone Boseman. Her award speech left all Panther fans with teary eyes.

Technical glitches

The 78th Golden Globes night was undoubtedly a hit scene but the ceremony was knocked with an immediate technical issue as the first winner, Daniel Kaluuya, lost sound during his acceptance speech that led to an apology by studio presenter Laura Dern.

“You’re doing me dirty! Am I on?” Kaluuya jokingly said.

Andra Day became the second black woman to win best actress award

Putting an end to a 35 year dry patch for female artists of colour to win big at the Golden night, Andra Day on Sunday created history by becoming the second woman in the history of Globes to win the bets actress award (drama) for best actress for her performance in United States vs. Billie Holiday.
