Makers of the 2022 film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ took to Twitter to reconfirm the release date, after a few rumours that had surfaced, suggesting a release delay. As per a statement released on Twitter by the Aamir Khan’s production house, the film is set for its Baisakhi release. The Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer is set to release on April 14, 2022.

Due to the surge of Covid-19 cases in the country and theatre shutdowns, many film projects have been postponed as of late.

The statement, posted on both Instagram and Twitter reads, “Aamir Khan Productions’ Laal Singh Chaddha’s release date stands as Baisakhi, 14th April 2022, contrary to some misleading stories. We once again would like to thank everyone who has supported us in the journey of making this film.”

The film is a Hindi remake of the 1994 blockbuster Hollywood hit, ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is jointly produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom 18 Studios. The film is directed by Advait Chandan and adapted by Atul Kulkarni. The music of the film is by Pritam along with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is now set to clash with ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2.’

In an old interview with PTI, actor Aamir Khan shared the reason behind the remake, stating that the plotline and script of ‘Forrest Gump’ is “wonderful”. He added that the film is affirming and makes the viewer feel good.
