Meghan Markle‘s estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, is one of the 12 contestants in this year’s ‘Big Brother VIP’. In a promo released on Sunday, Thomas reportedly called his half-sister “shallow”.

The promo begins with the 55-year-old saying, “I’m Meghan Markle’s brother, I’m the biggest brother of them all.”

He goes on to make a shocking statement, claiming, “I told Prince Harry, I think she’s going to ruin your life. She’s very shallow.”

The Duchess of Sussex’s wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018 has  strained her relationship with her father and her step-brother. Thomas, who hadn’t seen his sister for seven years, has been snubbed from the wedding. 

In an interview in 2018, Thomas had lashed out at Meghan for not inviting him to the wedding and said that he had asked Prince Harry to call off the ceremony as Meghan “is obviously not the right woman for you”.

“I’m not bitter, just baffled. It’s hurtful given how close we once were. I’m confused and a little distraught because here is a person knowing the position she’s in and knowing the scrutiny she’s under and yet she has forgotten her flesh and blood,” he had said in an interview at the time.

Thomas had also previously spoken out about Meghan and slammed her in a damning video shared on social media.

“Me myself and my family have been dragged through the media and made to look like hillbillies, drug addicts, alcoholics, convicts, whatever. All b******t while Meghan’s PR team gets paid continuously to make us look bad, bury my father, make him look like nobody,” he had said in the video. 

Meanwhile, ‘Big Brother VIP’ will feature Caitlyn Jenner, Bernard Curry, model Ellie Gonsalves, influencer Josh Carroll and 2021 Big Brother Australia star Daniel Hayes.
