Multiple Grammy award winner Taylor Swift is about to release her tenth studio album Midnights on 21 October. The album, as the songstress describes, is “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout her life.” This much anticipated record was announced by Swift at the 2022 VMAs, where she earned an award for video of the year, for the music video of All Too Well (10 min version).

This announcement was a surprise for fans, since it was speculated that Swift will release a re-recorded album before beginning any new projects.

Swift posted a streak of short videos to tease the songs from her upcoming album. The series was called Midnights Mayhem and it featured Swift revealing the track titles of the album.

The tracklist is diverse, with songs like Anti Hero, which as Swift explained, explore insecurities about her own self to Lavender Haze, a song which talks about falling in love. Lavender Haze is inspired from Swift’s relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn.

One of the most surprising revelations for the fans was an announcement of a Lana Del Rey collaboration. Rey, one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the era, would be featured on the track Snow On The Beach. Swift has praised Rey on multiple occasions, calling her ‘one of the best musical artists ever’. Fans were long waiting for the two singers to collaborate, and ever since this announcement, they are thrilled to hear them together on the track. Swift calls Snow On The Beach as ‘sort of cataclysmic, fated moment where you realise someone feels exactly the same way you feel at the same moment’.

Swift’s long time collaborator and friend Jack Antonoff has been confirmed as the producer on ‘Midnights’. Antonoff has produced some of Swift’s career’s biggest hits, like Out Of The Woods and Lover. He last collaborated with Swift on her Red (Taylor’s Version) where he produced three tracks.

Swift has announced Anti Hero’s music video would be released on the same day as the album’s release. The album would be available worldwide on 21 October 2021.
