Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has joined that cast of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming production ‘Tiku weds Sheru’, the shooting for which will begin shortly.
Kangana’s production house Manikarnika Films shared the announcement on its official Instagram handle.
“The best actor of our generation joins team Tiku weds Sheru…. We are privileged to have found our Lion #TikuwedsSheru Filming begins soon,” the post said.
Sharing the post on her profile, Kangana wrote, “Welcome to the team, sir @nawazuddin._siddiqui @manikarnikafilms #tikuwedssheru.”
This is the first time the two actors are collaborating on a project. ‘Tiku weds Sheru’ is the first digital project under Kangana‘s production label. The movie, which is a love story and a dark satire, was initially supposed to feature late actor Irrfan Khan. It is, however, not clear if the ‘Manikarnika’ actor will also star in the film.
In May, Kangana had unveiled the logo of her production house.
“Launching the logo of @ManikarnikaFP with the announcement of our debut in digital space with a quirky love story Tiku weds Sheru …. Need your blessings,” she had tweeted.
“With Tiku Weds Sheru, Manikarnika Films is venturing into digital space. It’s a love story and a satire with dark humour. In digital space, we will do more edgy, new-age and niche content,” she said.
Kangana is currently filming ‘Dhaakad’ in Budapest along with Arjun Rampal. She will also be seen in ‘Thalaivi’, which revolves around the life of late politician J Jayalalithaa. Earlier this week, she said that the release date of the movie has not been finalised.
“No release date has been finalised for Thalaivi yet, please refrain from rumours. We will release the film as and when cinemas open all across the country. Thanks,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Nawazuddin, on the other hand, will next be seen ‘Heropanti 2’ along with Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria.
