It was Priyanka Chopra’s 38th birthday yesterday and the actor got much love from her film fraternity on the occasion. ‘Badhaai Ho’ actor Neena Gupta had a special birthday video for her, where she talked about how Priyanka had inspired her in the work front.
“I am sharing this special (Instagram) post because she had inspired me once and I want to share that with you,” Neena said in the two-minute long video. The 61-year-old actor went on to narrate an incident where she had to go to Los Angeles for an important audition without prior notice. She said that she was shooting for a film already and had only three days of break in her shooting schedule. When she asked the film agency for 10 days’ time, they did not agree and asked her to fly to the US as soon as possible.
Neena went on to say that this left her wondering how she could manage and almost made the decision of not going for the audition. She continued, “I remembered watching one of Priyanka Chopra’s video where she was talking about a time where she had two big functions to attend at both India and the US almost simultaneously. She managed doing it after changing five flights, sleeping in the flight, doing her make-up there and every other thing. I remembered there and said to myself, ‘Yes, I can do it too,’ and flew to Los Angeles.”
The actor said that even though she did not get the film, it did not matter at that point. “Priyanka inspires me a lot. So wish you a very happy birthday Priyanka,” she concluded the video.
After a long break in her career, Neena is finally back in the acting business and is doing amazingly well. She was seen in major movies like ‘Badhaai Ho’, ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdan’, and will now be seen on Netflix’s web series ‘Masaba Masaba’ along with her daughter Masaba Gupta. She will also be seen in a cameo appearance in Kabir Khan’s ”83′.
