‘Paper Girls’ trailer has dropped on Amazon Prime. A science-fiction series, ‘Paper Girls’ is based on Brian K Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s comic book by the same name. The series follows four young girls as they find themselves transported from 1988 to 2019 after getting caught in a crossfire between warring time travelers.

The teaser of the series was launched earlier and it gave a short snippet of four girls time traveling along with a purple-pink colour tone in the series. The comic book on which the series is based on has been widely celebrated as one of the best comics of 2010.

The trailer begins the same way as the story in the comic. On the morning after Halloween 1988, four pre-teen girls start making their newspaper delivery rounds in their quaint Cleveland suburb in Ohio. But when the night sky suddenly turns a menacing shade of purple, they immediately take shelter in the nearest house.

Eventually, they realize that they have time-traveled to the year 2019. As the story progresses, we learn the girls also encounter their adult selves in this strange new future. As traveling through time is a capital offense, the four girls immediately become targets and are forced to outrun law enforcement in order to find a home.

The series also has classic ‘80s adventure movie elements like kids riding all over town on bikes and the storyline is based in Ohio USA.

The series stars Sofia Rosinsky, Camryn Jones, Riley Lai Nelet, and Fina Strazza as the four main girls, while Ali Wong has been cast as the older version of Erin Tieng. It will also feature Nate Corddry, and Adina Porter. ‘Paper Girls’ starts streaming on July 29 only on Amazon Prime. There are eight episodes of this sci-fi adventure series and all the episodes will premiere on the same day.
