On Monday, he posted a video with director Om Raut, where the duo hinted about the announcement on Tuesday.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Adipurush is an adaption of an Indian epic that celebrates the victory of good over evil. It’s expected to release in 2022.

The poster has a silhouette of Lord Ram in the centre holding a bow and arrow, a fierce Hanuman on the background and the ten-faced demon Ravana. “Prabhas in and as Adipurush,” reads the poster.

Thus, Prabhas is set to play Lord Ram, who is also referred to as ‘Adipurush.’

The film will release in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and a few foreign languages. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced.

Director Om Raut recently directed the Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’.

Other than Adipurush, the Bahubali actor is set to star in Radhe Shyam, opposite Pooja Hegde. He also has Nag Ashvin’s film in his kitty, in which he will star opposite Deepike Padukone.
