Until an official wedding image hits social media, fans of Bollywood duo Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt continue to swoon over the slightest glimpse of the couple’s wedding festivities. While most viral images clicked by paparazzi are authentic, some images from years ago have surfaced just in time to mislead excited social media users.
A viral image circulating on the internet claims to feature a dolled-up Alia Bhatt at her Mehendi ceremony that took place on April 13. The image displays the 29-year-old wearing a pastel lehenga and heavy gold jewellery. Showcasing her hennaed palms, Bhatt is seen posing with Mehendi artist Veena Nagda.
Upon fact-checking, it was found that the image was clicked in March 2021 when the ‘Raazi’ actor was shooting for a television commercial for Cadbury Perk. Back then, Nagda had shared another image from the same day. “On set of Cadbury Perk Commercial with lovely @aliaabhatt shot by @goodmorningfilms,” she wrote on Instagram last year.
Uploaded on March 6, 2021, the post has garnered over 3,628 likes.
Fast forward to April 14, 2022, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s close friends and family have started to show up at the couple’s wedding venue. Bedazzled in jewels and sparkly outfits, several celebrities have been photographed on their wedding day.
After keeping the wedding festivities a hush-hush affair, Kapoor’s mother Neetu Kapoor, finally confirmed the news on Wednesday, adding that Bhatt “is the best,” and she hopes that “God blesses them, really.”
