Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently opened up about the importance of seeking help from counsellors, friends and family while dealing with a mental health issue.

The Telugu and Tamil film actor revealed how deceiving social media can be, and how “no one’s life is perfect”.

Speaking at the launch event of Psychiatry at Your Doorstep, a mental-health initiative by Roshini Trust and Datla Foundation, Samantha spoke about the challenges of the modern world, and how social media contributes to it. She further added how crucial it is for other celebrities to not only share their glamorous lives, but also speak about their struggles. The 34-year-old star cited her own example and shared how she sought the support of her friends and family, as well as professional help through counsellors during a challenging time in her life. She further stated that her strength comes from the support of her loved ones.

Roshni Trust is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1997. After 24 years of service, the NGO decided to launch a new initiative. Located in Hyderabad, the launch event at the NGO took place on Saturday.

 Last year, Samantha became the talk of town after her split with former partner and actor Naga Chaitanya. As the divorce was announced, many rumours of abortions and affairs began spiralling, but these were denied by Samantha.

In a recent interview with Times of India, Samantha shared seven habits that keep her positive. From having an early start to her day, to visualising positive thoughts, the ‘Theri’ star shared easy habits she has incorporated in her daily routine that help her become her best self.
