Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are accused of assaulting the plaintiffs sexually when they were both minors in a civil action brought by a 22-year-old woman on behalf of herself and her younger brother in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The case, which was submitted under the pseudonyms “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” (the brother, who was born in 2007, is still a minor), claims that Haddish and Spears pressured the young plaintiffs into “filming sexually explicit child pornography skits” by grooming them.

According to the plaintiffs, their mother introduced them to Haddish and Spears. Haddish is referred to as a “longtime family friend” in the lawsuit.

Haddish and Spears “took advantage and stole the youth of a 7-year-old child and a 14-year-old child,” the lawsuit claims.

Two distinct incidences of alleged sexual abuse of minors are highlighted in the case, both of which are alleged to have occurred in Los Angeles. In 2013, Jane Doe claims that the performers forced her to imitate fellatio for a film.

The lawsuit claims that Haddish and Spears both appeared in the 2014 movie and that John Doe was forced to perform in a pornographic video while still in his underwear.

Through a Pedophile’s Eyes – the video was posted online and on the comedy video website Funny Or Die.

A spokesperson for the firm said in a statement that “Funny Or Die found this video absolutely disgusting and would never produce such content. We were not involved with the conceptualization, development, funding, or production of this video. It was uploaded to the site as user-generated content and was removed in 2018 immediately after becoming aware of its existence.”

Haddish’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, dismissed the plaintiffs’ allegations against his client as “bogus” in a statement. According to Brettler, the mother of the plaintiffs has been attempting to discredit Haddish with these claims for a number of years.

“Every attorney who has initially taken on her case — and there were several — ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless and Ms. Haddish would not be shaken down. Now, [she] has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action,” Brettler added.

“He isn’t going to fall for any shakedown,” said Spears’ attorney Debra Opri regarding her client’s response to the charges.

The plaintiff stated that Haddish’s lawyer, Brettler, “built his career” on representing celebrities involved in sexual abuse cases in an email provided to NPR by Jane Doe.  “We are not surprised that Mr. Brettler would attempt to divert the attention away from the legitimate claims filed by my brother and me, to shift the blame and attention to our mother who is not a party to this lawsuit,” the statement continued.

In addition to the legal action that was filed this week, Jane Doe stated that she and her brother are urging the Los Angeles Police Department to prosecute the celebrities with a crime. We are hoping that the LAPD will finally take action and detain Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears right away.
