Indian filmmaker
Vishal Bharadwaj, best known for his acclaimed Shakespeare trilogy ‘Maqbool’, (Macbeth), ‘Omkara’ (Othello) and ‘Haider’ (Hamlet), said that a film should be made on India’s
noted tennis players Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes adding that he would love to
direct one if any such opportunity comes his way, reported PTI.

“I
feel a film should be made on Leander (Paes) and Mahesh (Bhupathi). If I get
an opportunity to make a film on their lives I would definitely make it,”
Bhardwaj told media.

The
director made the statements during the auction of Tennis Premier League. He further added that he is excited to watch Saina, a Parineeti Chopra starring sports biopic on ace badminton player Saina
Nehwal.

Calling Saina’s director Amol Gupte his favourite, Vishal said, “I
am looking forward to watch the ‘Saina’ Nehwal biopic directed by Amol Gupte. ‘Saina’ is scheduled to release this Friday.

In October last year, the ‘Haider’ director Vishal Bhardwaj announced that he is set to develop an Indian franchise of renowned British mystery writer Agatha Christie’s work for the Indian audience.
