The largest fan gathering of the year is beginning in Brazil as we enter the holiday season. The HBO adaptation of the renowned Sony PlayStation game The Last of Us is one of the most eagerly awaited television programmes of 2023. Pedro Pascal plays Joel Miller, a smuggler tasked with smuggling Ellie, a girl presumed to possess the cure for a virus that will wipe out humanity, to the quarantine zone in the series. Ellie is played by Bella Ramsey.

Pascal is currently in Sao Paulo to offer fans a sneak preview of the next series, which launches in January. HBO unveiled a full-length trailer for the show during the panel, expanding on the teaser we saw earlier this year. The new teaser emphasises Joel and Ellie’s father-daughter relationship. The new film also provides another horrifying view of the Clickers and the post-apocalyptic world while being set to an eerie rendition of A-ha’s Take On Me.

Joel and Ellie are portrayed as they struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic version of the US in The Last of Us video game series. When it is learned that Ellie appears to be immune to the Cordyceps illness, which has transformed the bulk of the populace into what are known as Clickers—zombie-like creatures—Ellie becomes a target.

In a recent interview, Murray Bartlett, who will play Frank, described the upcoming episode’s screenplay as “one of the best hours of television” he’s ever read and said the show is “beautifully written.” Frank is a man who helped strengthen a nearby town that Joel and Ellie travel through on their journey.

The Last of Us is anticipated to depict a really delicate, human story despite its terrifying beasts and dismal environment, according to Bartlett.

On January 15, 2023, at 9:00 pm ET, The Last of Us will make its HBO debut. It will also be streamable on HBO Max.
