Singer Kailash Kher, who was among the first to be nominated
by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of Swachh Bharat challenge, says that
the entire world is looking at India with new hope and admiration and all this
has happened in the past five years.
The singer, who had performed at PM Modi’s reception in
Silicon Valley, said, “India is now hailed by the entire world as the country
is now donating the life-saving vaccine to the world. Some of the countries
have no space left to even cremate people, India is helping them with the
vaccine. These are the countries that were called developed nations and we were
called the country of snake charmers, the country of slavery. Now the country
is headed by the right people and the result is the entire world is watching
us.”
“Even a member of the UN has said that one country that can
save other nations is India and he even took the name of PM Modi. He said he
will save the nation, the country, and the world,” Kher told Opoyi in an
interview.
Is Kher the PM Modi fan? He says “We are his team, we are
part of his group, we are his fauji (military). I am one of the ‘Navratans’ of
Prime Minister Modi.”
Recalling his recent meeting with the prime minister, Kher
said that Modi told him “Jaha Kher hai waha sab khairiyat hai.”
Kailash Kher, who is known for his soulful renditions across
the world, says things are changing in the country for good, and all because of
“right leadership”.
“In the last five years, things have changed for good in
India. The entire world is hailing the country and all this was possible
because of right thoughts, the right leadership and we are the extension of
that leadership. Now when we talk about the eating habits of India, we thought
of bringing a change in people’s lifestyles,” said Kher who was in Delhi
on Friday to launch the 12th exclusive brand outlet of ‘Nourish’ under the
brand BL Agro, one of the leading FMCG companies in India.
Talking about his food priorities, the ‘Allah Ke Bande’
crooner said that he prefers home-made food even when he is traveling.
“I travel across the world but I make sure that I eat
home-made food. This is the condition that I put up while traveling for
assignment,” he says and then went on to explain “What is homemade
food?”
“Home is where our heart is, and where there is
heart there is purity, and where there’s purity there’s God. So the idea is
simple that if we are attached to our roots, we get closer to God,” the
singer said.
Kher emphasised that health can’t be ignored. “If our
health is gone, everything is gone. If you are not fit then everything is
secondary and that is the reason why we want the world to be clean and healthy
and for that eating the right food is important.”
