The fifth episode titled ‘Zombies’ of the What
if…? TV series has released exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar. It is an
American anthology series and the first ever animated series produced by Marvel
Studios which flips the script on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In order to
understand what’s going on in the series, the viewer needs to have a good
understanding of the Marvel Universe. It shows the familiar Marvel stories with
some twists, turns and unique endings.

The finale of the series Loki unleashed the
multiverse, which is where the stories of What If…? are taking place. The Watcher
voiced by 55-year-old Jeffrey Wright is the only character who is seen in each
episode.

The series was released on August 11, 2021. A
new episode will be released on Hotstar for its Premium customers every
Wednesday at 12:30 PM.

The first season will conclude with nine episodes
and Marvel has confirmed that it is already working on another season which
could be releases as soon as next year. It is a quick paced series moves from
one universe to the next, shifting between various storylines.

The first four episodes titled What If… Captain Carter Were the First Avenger?, What If…
T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?, What If… The World Lost Its Mightiest
Heroes? And What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His
Hands? Have all been well received by the fans.

It remains to be seen whether these storylines will have any
impact on the MCU or not but that does not diminish the fan’s excitement for
the series.
