Adam Warlock is a Marvel Comics superhero who is set to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3. The character was teased in movies like the first two editions of Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor: The Dark World.

Who is Adam Warlock?

The character Adam Warlock first appeared in the comic books  Fantastic Four #66–67. He was created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, and was initially called Him. The character is a genetically engineered being who is the next step in the evolution of human beings. In the comics, Adam Warlock was created by the Enclave, a group of scientific researchers.

Adam Warlock has superhuman power, speed, and agility, and can also manipulate energy. Just like Deadpool, he is an immortal being. The character uses a regenerative cocoon to heal himself and to develop powers he does not have.

Warlock also has the powers to separate qualities from himself and create them into living beings like The Magus, who is the embodiment of the darkness in him, and The Goddess, who represents his good side.

He often carries the Soul Stone, which was given to him by the High Evolutionary after his rebirth. Warlock went to Counter Earth after his rebirth and became its first superhero.

Besides Guardians of the Galaxy, Adam Warlock has also had affiliations with the Universal Church of Truth and Infinity Watch.

The character first appeared in the animated Silver Surfer series, following which he was seen in The Super Hero Squad Show, The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and the animated Guardians of the Galaxy.
