Who is Amanda Rodriguez?

Amanda Rodriguez, known as the wife of Wade Robson, has become a pillar of support for her husband as he courageously speaks out about the alleged sexual abuse he experienced at the hands of the late pop icon, Michael Jackson. Robson, a renowned choreographer, first encountered Jackson in 1987 after winning a dance competition in his native Australia. Little did he know that this meeting would lead to a dark chapter in his life.

According to Robson, the abuse began when he was just seven years old during visits to Jackson’s Neverland ranch. The acclaimed choreographer, now 36, has shared the painful truth that the man he once considered kind and caring was also his abuser. It was not until Robson sought therapy that he mustered the strength to disclose the trauma to his family. His wife, Amanda Rodriguez, has been a constant source of support throughout this harrowing journey.

When Rodriguez learned about the abuse her husband had endured, she described it as a bomb that had shattered their lives. The revelation rocked the foundations of their once secure and safe existence. Nevertheless, the couple has transformed their pain into action, establishing the Robson Child Abuse Healing and Prevention Fund. Through this initiative, they hope to contribute to the healing process for survivors of child abuse while actively working to prevent such atrocities from occurring in the future.

Amanda Rodriguez, herself an actress known for her roles in The Strip and The Richmond Family Massacre, as well as her work as a choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance, has been unwavering in her support of her husband’s journey towards justice and healing. Standing beside him in the documentary Leaving Neverland, Rodriguez has lent her voice to shed light on the impact the abuse had on their family life.

The allegations against Michael Jackson are not new. Wade Robson’s case gained significant attention in 2013 when he filed a lawsuit against Jackson’s estate, seeking £1.2 billion in damages. However, the lawsuit was eventually dismissed, with the judge ruling that the estate could not be held responsible for the allegations against Jackson, who passed away in 2009.

In a joint statement, Robson and James Safechuck, another individual who accused Jackson of sexual abuse, emphasized that the passing of a sexual abuser does not deprive the victims of their right to seek justice. They expressed their satisfaction with the Court of Appeal’s thorough consideration of the facts and applicable laws in their cases. The upcoming oral arguments and eventual decision hold the promise of progress towards justice for the survivors.
