A woman has claimed that Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand Skims helped save her life as she was being shot. On Friday, July 14, the 42-year-old founder of Skims posted a TikTok from Angelina Wiley, a 22-year-old Kansas City native who survived a mass shooting in Kansas City, Missouri, earlier this year, on her Instagram Story.

More than 1.4 million people have seen the TikTok since it was posted on May 18 as a result of fellow TikTokers tagging Kim Kardashian in the hope that she will see the video. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star captioned the reposted video with “Wowwww” in her Instagram Story.

She was wearing the Skims Sculpt Thong Bodysuit ($68) when she was shot four times, Wiley said in a follow-up video. Her injuries from the shooting included gunshot wounds, a burst bladder, a broken pelvis, and a bullet that was still stuck in her abdomen.

The 22-year-old revealed in a series of videos posted in March of last year that she had decided to get some food from a neighboring food truck as she was waiting for a Lyft at about 1.30 am. Wiley heard “people fighting” as she and her buddy crossed the street, and then a man “in a ski mask” started firing.

“Kim Kardashian saved my life,” Wiley said in the video. She explained that she was shot “four times” during an incident that occurred on New Year’s Day, according to reports. “The night that I got shot, under my dress I was wearing a Skims shaping bodysuit,” she said. “It was so tight on me that it literally kept me from bleeding out.”

“I recommend it,” Wiley jokingly added. “I’m definitely going to buy some more, I mean I should wear it every day. It’s like body armor for women.”
