A member of NBA star Victor Wembanyama’s security is accused of assaulting Britney Spears on Wednesday night in Las Vegas after backhanding her in the face. Britney has reported the incident to the police.

According to law enforcement authorities, Damian Smith, the Director of Team Security for the Spurs, is the person identified in the police report as having slapped Britney Spears. It is not being addressed as a criminal matter, according to our sources, because police found that Smith was not attempting to harm Britney but rather to defend Victor Wembanyama.

Around 8:30 p.m., the event occurred at the Catch restaurant inside the ARIA Hotel. Sam Asghari, Britney’s husband, and two other people headed to the restaurant for dinner. As she walked into the casino, she was surrounded by fans.

Britney and the others headed over to Catch, and as they walked inside, Britney noticed Victor. She reportedly approached him to ask if they could take a picture together because she was a fan. It’s reported that when she touched his right shoulder on the back, the San Antonio Spurs’ director of team security—the team that selected Victor last month—immediately backhanded her, sending her to the ground and breaking her glasses.
