As part of the new DC Universe, Superman: Legacy will be the first movie to be released. In an earlier interview, Gunn, who will write and direct the upcoming superhero film, explained that the focus of Legacy will be Superman’s ancestry and that it would examine how “both his aristocratic Kryptonian parents and his Kansas farmer parents inform who he is and the choices he makes.”

The movie has been referred to as a “workplace origin story,” which implies that a significant chunk of the movie will center on Clark Kent, Superman’s human persona and a reporter for the Daily Planet. Production on Legacy will begin in early 2024.
