Georgia Tennant (nee Moffett) portrayed the fictional character Jenny in the BBC show Doctor Who. She had an appearance in The Doctor’s Daughter episode, which debuted on May 10, 2008. 

David Tennant, better known for his role as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, married Georgia Moffett, a former co-star on the time-traveling show.

David Tennant, who is the tenth actor to portray the Doctor in the venerable British series, tied the knot with Georgia on December 30 and celebrated the occasion with a huge party on New Year’s Eve. 

Actor Peter Davison, who played the part of Doctor Who in the past, is Georgia Moffett’s father. He was the fifth man to portray the role throughout the first decade of the 1980s.

Who is Georgia Tennant?

Georgia Elizabeth Tennant is an English actress and producer. She was born on December 25, 1984 at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in Hammersmith, West London. Her parents Peter Davison and Sandra Dickinson were both American actors. She attended St Edward’s School in Oxford.

Georgia Tennant’s Career 

Georgia made her television debut as Nicki Davey in Peak Practice (1999) just at the age of 15. She has further made appearances in television dramas such Like Father, Like Son and The Second Quest. She starred opposite her father in Fear, Stress & Anger and The Last Detective. She also portrayed the role of poor Alice Harding in the ITV drama Where the Heart Is in 2004 – 2005. 

She made her theatrical debut as Mathilde Verlaine in Total Eclipse at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory in 2007. Georgia  Moffett also played Kylie Roman in the first season of BBC Three’s spy spin-off Spooks: Code 9 in August 2008.

She portrayed Lady Vivian in the BBC drama Merlin episode Sweet Dreams and provided the voice of Cassie Rice in Doctor Who: Dreamland in 2009. In the same year, she was also cast in BBC medical drama Casualty as junior doctor Heather Whitefield. 

She debuted as a producer by producing the series The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot, a web series that honored Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary. 

Georgia also produced and starred in the short film 96 Ways To Say I Love You along with her husband  David Tennant and the movie had its world premiere at the London Independent Film Festival.

She made a comeback to acting in 2017, making an appearance as Georgia Tennant in the BBC drama miniseries In the Dark

Georgia and David Tenant got engaged on January 2011 and the couple has five children – Ty, Olive, Wilfred, Birdie, and Doris.

Apart from being an actor, Georgia is also a philanthropist. She is a supporter of Straight Talking, a nonprofit organization that works to inform young people about teen pregnancies. 

In 2018, she suffered from early-stage cervical cancer which was later successfully treated for.
