Canadian Rapper Tory Lanez was found guilty in the Megan Thee Stallion case. Upon hearing the verdict of the court, Lanez’s father Sonstar Peterson went into a ranting spree, accusing the system to be unfair and reportedly even pointing to one of the prosecutors, saying they have done it all wrong. 

Journalist Meghann Cunnif, who works for Law & Crime, tweeted about how Peterson reacted to the verdict. 

“A crazy and downright scary scene in the courtroom as his father and stepmother screamed about wicks injustice,” she revealed.

Here’s how Peterson reacted outside the courtroom. 

Lanez was arrested in 2020 due to possesion of firearms. Though Stallion was also discovered in an injured state, she initially refused to reveal the shooter. It was revealed later that the shooter was Lanez. 

He was charged with three felony counts, and was found guilty of all of them in the final verdict.

Who is Sonstar Peterson?

Peterson is Lanez’s father, who has been unequivocally supportive of his son and his career choices. Peterson was initially married to Luella Peterson, and later had a son through their marriage, Lanez. Luella passed away after contracting a rare disease. This tragic incident led to a shift in the family, Peterson became an ordained minister and a missionary, which gave them an opportunity to travel throughout the US

Peterson, while speaking to Eve magazine, revealed that he met a woman in Kenya in 2011, and after being romantically involved with her, he decided to shift to the country permanently. Families of both sides met each other and the two wed later.

His marriage life was tragic since he had to leave for New York, and with no roof to live under, he approached his grandmother to allow him to stay with her, but she refused. He befriended three strangers who let him live with them. 

Peterson ranted out about the judiciary system in the trial room after his son was declared guilty in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case with three felony counts,  carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle; assault with a semiautomatic handgun; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
