Lance Reddick, actor famous for starring in The Wire and John Wick, died on Friday. He was 60. Law enforcement agency said that they found his body in his Los Angeles home at around 9:30 AM.

TMZ, citing insiders, said that Reddick died of natural causes. However, his cause of death has not been made official yet.

Who was Suzanne Yvonne Louis, Lance Reddick’s first wife?

Suzanne Yvonne Louis-Reddick was Lance Reddick’s first wife. She died on November 3, 2011 from a heart attack experienced several weeks earlier. She worked as a jewelry designer. Louis went into coma and never recovered.

Suzanne was born on September 17, 1061 in Cleveland, Ohio. She married Lance in 1986. The couple had two children Yvonne Nicole Reddick, and Christopher Alexander Reddick. She divorced Lance and had a child with Karl Meie – Kaiya Dane Meier.

She graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington, MA, and Parsons School of Design in New York City. Later, she became a Certified Midwife when she graduated from the State University of New York College of Medicine. She worked with Avon Products for several years as a jewelry designer.

Lance spoke about the loss of his first wife and mother in an interview with Strombo in 2012. “In this business, it’s so much about either getting the next job or who’s the bigger star or how much money you’re making and I’m not saying that’s what it has necessarily been about for me but you get caught up in that … and sometimes you forget that we’re mortal,” he said. “It made me realize that I always have to keep in front of me why I’m doing this.”

He added, “I felt it more with my ex-wife because suddenly I was my kids’ only parent… I have great kids and it’s because they had a great mom.”
