Rings of Power, the much-anticipated tele-series that cost over $715 million to produce, will finally premiere on September 1 in US and Canada. Morfyyd Clark will play Galadriel in the eight-part Amazon TV series, which also stars Robert Aramayo as Elrond, Markella Kavenrough as Elanor, Joseph Mawle as Oren, and Benjamin Walker as Gil-galad. Contrary to common belief, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is neither an adaption nor a prelude to The Rings of Power. The series was shot in New Zealand during the pandemic.

The multi-season drama explores the Second Age, a time when Middle-Earth was at peace just before one of the greatest evils took over and caused devastation. The principal enemy of the programme, the dark lord Sauron, has not yet been cast in his role as an actor, although many are expecting Anson Boon to play the villainous character. Viewers will learn about the creation of the 20 magical rings of power in this story. There were three rings for elves, seven for dwarves, nine for men, and one to rule them all.

Here is a list of the main characters and the actors bring them alive on screen!

Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Queen Regent Míriel

The island nation of Numenor is ruled by Queen Regent -Miriel. Although she is the legitimate heir to the throne, her vicious cousin Pharazon coerces her into marriage so that he can seize control over the empire.

Besides appearing in The Vampire Diaries, Flash Forward, and Ben Affleck’s The Accountant, Cynthia Addai-Robinson most recently made an appearance in the Starz series Power.

Benjamin Walker as High King Gil-galad

In order to defeat Sauron’s armies, the last coalition of elves and men is led by High King Gil-galad of the Oldor elves.

The Ice Road, In the Heart of the Sea, Flags of Our Fathers, Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight, and Netflix’s Jessica Jones are just a few of the films, television shows, and theatre performances that Benjamin Walker has appeared in.

Sophia Nomvete as Princess Disa

Disa is the dwarven princess and the first female dwarf to appear in the franchise. She is Prince Durin’s boss as well. The character is played by Sophia Nomvete who is also the first Black woman to appear in the show. The character is non-canonical, as she does not appear in the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Morfyyd Clark as Galadriel

In the Rings of Power, Galadriel has decades to go before she becomes the wise ruler of Lothlorien. She now seeks peace after experiencing the conflict and horrors of the First Age, but she can’t shake the sensation that evil may be coming again to Middle-earth.

Clark, who is most known for her work on the television shows His Dark Materials and Saint Maud, says that she never imagined playing a fairy elf.

Robert Aramayo as Elrond

Young Elrond is not an elf lord at the start of The Rings of Power. He is a young, aspirational politician who is a half-elf. He also has a strong family legacy to uphold: His brother Elros chose a mortal life and went on to create the human realm of Numenor, and his father Eärendil is a mythical figure who assisted in rescuing Middle-earth from evil. Elrond, in contrast to his brother, chose immortality, and he is currently looking for his calling in the majestic elf realm of Lindon.

Aramayo is no stranger to big-budget fantasy television, having appeared in Game of Thrones as a young Ned Stark.
